Helmut Welke M.S.

President, Tennessee Creation Fellowship

Speaker – Presenter for your Church, Youth group or School

Biographical information

Helmut is a retired engineering manager with a Fortune 100  company. He holds BS and MS degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Illinois and has held positions in a variety of national and international assignments. He is a certified engineering manager and in 2006 was elected to the board of trustees of IISE – an international society serving the Industrial & Systems Engineering profession. In 2012 he was honored as a “Fellow” of the IISE society.

Helmut is also president of Tennessee Creation Fellowship and a past president of the Quad-City Creation Science Association. Both are local Creation groups dedicated to telling the truth in science education. He is also a member of the Creation Research Society and has been named an Ambassador/Speaker for Logos Research Associates. In recent years he has become a popular speaker on Creation Science topics as well as Atheism and Intelligent Design. He has spoken to churches, youth groups, on college campuses and civic organizations throughout the Midwest USA, but also in France, Germany, Hungary and Poland.

Polls indicate that over 2/3 of Evangelical Youth walk away from the church after college. Our churches need to provide the apologetics and training to overcome the atheistic teaching to help the next generation develop a Christian worldview and the convictions that last a lifetime. Helmut’s presentations cover some technical information, but are designed for average audiences of all ages to comprehend and gain insight into our Created world. So that they too may become winsome case-makers for the Gospel and Biblical Creation.

Topics for presentations related to Creation Science

Helmut Welke; M.S.
President, Tennessee Creation Fellowship

“Darwinian Evolution and 21st Century Science” – This introductory talk covers the basic questions surrounding the theory of evolution. These include “Could evolution start without a Creator?”, “Could evolution actually happen according to genetics?”, and “Did evolution actually happen in the past according to the fossil record?”.  The basic facts lead to some thought-provoking conclusions.

“Evolution: An Unnatural Selection” – Reviews the implications for theologians who try to compromise the Bible with Darwinian evolution. Included is a summary of the difference between natural selection and Darwin’s theory of a common ancestor. *Good for Sunday service.

“Atheism and the Origin of Life” – An explanation of the reality of Intelligent Design and the question of the origin of the first cell. Is spontaneous generation feasible, given today’s understanding of microbiology? This talk is especially good for university students and youth groups in general.

“Dinosaurs, People, and the Bible” – A review of seven key evidences that Humans and Dinosaurs co- existed. Some major discoveries have been made that show dinosaurs could not possibly have disappeared 65 million years ago. (good anytime! And very popular with young people.)

“Human Genetics and the Bible.” A very interesting and dynamic PowerPoint presentation on DNA including very recent findings and how they relate to mutations. The implications of the Fall and curse of sin is clearly illustrated in modern genetics. A fascinating talk anytime, including *Sunday Services.

“Astronomy and the Bible” – Astronomy evidences for creation with an emphasis on scientific evidences for a young sun and young solar system.  In fact, the ‘Big Bang’ theory has become scientifically absurd.

“Big Bang in Big Trouble” – Astronomy, specifically the Big Bang theory is reviewed along with 10 scientific reasons the big bang theory is no longer scientifically viable.

Biblical Cosmology: Understanding the First 4 days of Creation”  This talk calls for a return to the straight forward reading of Genesis from a Biblical and Scientific point of view. It goes through the first 4 days in terms of what God says about how He created the Universe, including the astronomical bodies. The sequence of events and evidences such as the formation of stars and Super Nova Remnants (SNR’s) fit the Biblical narrative far better than Big Bang Theory.

“Millions of Years! Where Did the Idea Come From?” – Reviews the pre-Darwin history of doubting Genesis’s six days and the lack of science that is behind it. Interesting insights from Niagara Falls and more! Longer version can include a review of radiometric dating.

“Flood Geology” – A review of the geological evidences (such as Grand Canyon) for the World-Wide Flood of Genesis and issues such as the capacity of Noah’s ark. – two versions one with emphasis on rafting in the Grand Canyon, and one that ends with an altar call.

“In God’s Image? or Planet of the Apes?” – Investigates the evidence for Ape to Human evolution, including Neanderthals and Lucy, as well as some of the more recent discoveries.

“Chimp and Human DNA: How Similar?” – This talk recaps some of the fossils held up as evidence that humans and apes came from a common ancestor. But DNA has often been used as proof of a common ancestor – since we are told that Chimp and Human DNA are 98.8% the same. The focus of this talk is to look at the DNA evidence in light of modern research and settles if we and chimps had a common ancestor.

“A Real Adam and Eve? Really!” – This talk reviews how genetics affirms a recent creation. It provides some amazing evidence for the Biblical account and also refutes many of the false reasons given that Adam and Eve were never real people. This talk is for the average layperson. It explains clearly that our genome cannot be as ‘old’ as secularists would have you believe.

“The Fossil Record: Evidence for Evolution or Creation?” Fossils! A review of how they are formed and what do they ‘say’ about earth history. Includes a review of some major fossils such as ‘Tiktaalik’ which are often cited as examples of transitional kinds.

“Carbon-14 and the Age of the Earth” – A quick review of carbon-14 dating methodology. For all audiences wishing to have a general understand of dating methods. The assumptions and some startling results from around the world are reviewed.

“A Flood, an Ice Age, and Climate Change” – In this presentation you will learn how the ice age is a natural result of the Flood, and how the Biblical model solves a host of mysteries about the onset of an ice age but also woolly mammoths and migration patterns. We’ll look at evidence for one ice age as well as what to make of the modern claims for ‘climate change’. For All ages.

“Men of Science – Men of God” – This presentation contrasts the impact Darwinism has had on Culture and Science with the results of scientists who maintain a Biblical worldview. Highlights from the careers of many scientists since the time of Darwin who have rejected evolutionary teaching are included.

“Aliens, UFOs and the Bible”- UFO researchers evidently think there are, or have been, aliens who have visited planet Earth. A growing number of people believe life on earth was seeded by ancient aliens. What about all those stories of abductions happening in recent years? This presentation will review the status of alien research and what we should really think about “alien visitors”.

“Going on a Dinosaur Dig” -In 2018 Helmut and his wife went on a Dinosaur fossil dig in Montana. He and the group dug up real dinosaur fossils, as well as fossilized turtle shell and a fig. This presentation explains what it was like with numerous pictures and accounts of finding real fossils. It includes what was found and how they learned to clean up the fossils in the lab, as well as what it takes to form a fossil.

Presentations designed for younger students (grades 3-9)

“Fearfully and Wonderfully Made” – This presentation is meant to give younger students an appreciation of the complexity of life and how special they are in the eyes of God.

“Dinosaurs and Noah’s Ark” – A basic review of Dinosaurs and their big bones. But also, a discussion on how fossils are formed and how small dinosaurs were when first hatched from an egg. This helps us understand the impact of Noah’s flood and how many animals were on Noah’s Ark.

“Creation Astronomy for Kids” – A basic review of the Heavens and God’s glory for Junior and Sr. High students. It includes a look at the size of the universe and an explanation as to why God made the Universe SOOO Big!. Some basic facts about our sun and the solar system are also included.

“Digging for Dinosaur Fossils” – This is a simpler account of the fossil dig Helmut went on in 2018 and what it takes to form a fossil. Students are given a chance to dig in sand and find their very own fossil to take home. NOTE: Host group is expected to provide a small tub filled with play-sand and also ‘wet wipes’ for cleanup. Helmut will provide small fossils for students to ‘dig up’ and to take one home as a souvenir.
